another temp guage thread.. which sender

Post by james.ed »

Hi all,

Hate to add another thread about these things.. i'm good with the fixing and wiring. Just need to know if anyones broughts a morris friendly sender for one of these.. which one do i need. I think it came off of a triumph herald and the gauge is smiths electric. thought i'd ask than take a punt. Its got cold and hot (should be enough detail to know if the engines about to blow).

here's a photo.. its not the one i brought but its exactly the same.

Anyone got a spare sender that's correct, or fancy sending me an ebay link! as always, thanks big time. really want to get this fixed before summer begins :D[frame]Image[/frame]

I've got what looks to be an identical gauge and I used one of these http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx? ... 687&title= which works perfectly.

Apparently a potentiometer can be used if you get a sender that over reads, see this post: http://mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=11&t ... er#p369604. There's also advice on that thread about feeding it from the 10 volt voltage regulator.
