Lowlight front wings

Post by Bald Moggie Man »

Where can I pick up a pair of these from? Also how much are they? I'm looking to do a custom Minor and just toying with a few ideas at the minute.

Any steel ones anywhere? Those fibreglass ones look good, though I may need to weld other bits to it so the fibreglass ones ain't good for that obviously!

Any lowlight wings should go to owners of lowlight series MMs who genuinely need them, not be wasted on custom jobs. By all means use fibreglass wings but do not use up an irreplacable item.

I had actually meant to buy them "new" not use original lowlight ones!

Because you said it was a custom job which generally means replacing highlight wings with lowlight wings.
The patterns for lowlight wings were destroyed some years ago which is why there is a shortage. Maybe one day someone will put up the money for new patterns.

Or it could mean the ones I have are shot and I wanted new steel ones. I didn't think the lowlight would fit a high light car anyway.

Some people are more traditionalist and purist here, especially about their specialist areas. Some of us love the custom projects :D

I love both to be fair. My father has an original Driver Training vehicle form the Royal Mail Moggie Van, which bar a front wing is completely original also even has the fuel restricter between the carb and the fastest it goes is 50mph, low compression box, dual set of pedals, original engine etc. Its been in The Royal and Heartbeat a few times.

I just think Mike could have spoke with more respect, as he doesn't know what I have or what I am doing. Also his "info" was incorrect, as I found "new" steel low light wings in the UK. As a new member here, his attitude towards me was very poor!

Also my grandfather has an original split screen high light minor that has been in Minor Monthly etc. I love the Morris Minor in any guise!
