HI ALL,
MIGHT SEEM LIKE A SILLY QUESTION BUT GONNA ASK ANYWAY. SHOULD THE RAD FAN ON A MINOR SUCK AIR THROUGH THE RAD OR BLOW ONTO IT?
THANX.

Re: RAD FAN
SPOT ON, FITTED A MINI FAN AS A SHORT TERM FIX ABOUT FIVE YEARS AGO, REPLACING WATER PUMP AT PRESENT SO HAVING A RE-THINK ON THE FAN SITUATION. HAVE A MIDGET 1275 ENGINE, MORRIS FAN NOCKS ON THE OIL SEPARATOR SO STRUGGLING TO FIND A FAN THAT WILL FIT IN THE SPACE AND DO THE JOB.
Re: RAD FAN
Well the Mini fan is worse than useless...... Just bend the blades of the Minor fan slightly, or fit a spacer - or indeed, fit the Spridget multi-blade fan!

Re: RAD FAN
It is a wonder that you have not had overheating problems with a Mini fan.
With the correct thickness spacing washers the Minor fan blades will fit between the rad and canister. You will haveto file flats on the washers so that they fit together on the bolts

Re: RAD FAN
i seem to recall reading in minor matters a few years ago about somebody fitting a fan backwards i.e. blew not suck..
stationary it was fine because it was able to blow air through the rad,
at high speed the force of oncoming air was so great it "over powered" the fan.
however in slow moving traffic the fan was equal the air coming in and the car overheated

Re: RAD FAN
You can't fit the fan 'backwards' - it would work fine both ways round - if you could fit it .......
But the Mini fan is shaped the other way - so it 'blows'.
