Which thermostat? 1098cc

Post by motown_junk »

Need to replace the thermostat in my traveller but not sure which one to go for. It's for an original (un-tweaked) 1098cc engine with 50000 miles on the clock. I've had a look around and there seem to be two temperatures available, so the question is hotter or cooler, which is best?

Which thermostat is in at the moment? The general thinking is cooler for warmer weather and swap to the hotter one (when replacing anitfreeze) in the winter :D

As Jeff suggests - the HOT one (88 or even 92) if you want a decent heater at this time of year.

I've binned the old one as it was covered in gunk from the corroded cover that I took off last weekend, thought it'd be better to get a new one... I'll go for both in that case and have a play about, thanks :)
