Needing someone to pin me down! SOS! (Pretty urgent!)

Post by Multiphonikks »

I can't remember if I said but last week Hebe's suspension packed up. Leaf spring completely went, and we just about made it home at 10 mph (I was only in the local village).

I rang up Bull Motif and ordered the parts, including two front locating pins for the leaf springs, but they only sent one (Their suppllier apprently not sending them)

Anyway - Kate and I (mainly I) have conned Pyoor_kate down (or accross) for the weekend to help me fit the new suspension parts (since my Kate generally doesn't do maintenence.)

I don't suppose anyone here has a spare Front Locating pin for the rear suspension? I was hoping to fit new ones as the old ones look rather grotty and covered with all sorts of horridness too. - If they do, would anyone send it first class so I can get it for Saturday morning? I'll then send you the replacement one as soon as it arrives?

You would be an absolute life saver, and it would also mean we wouldn't have to spend hours trying to preserve what I think are actually jammed in bolts...

Looking under the car in fact, I wonder how Hebe passed her MOT - the suspension on the other side is completely shot too...

Cheers

Nikki

I have one, but don't know if I can find it at short notice (ie- it's gone 5 and it's Friday tomorrow and I'm at work, we don't have outgoing post on a Friday..)
If you are desperate, you can usually get away with using an old one!

I will let you know if I do find it, but as for getting it to you - no promises!!

Thanks Ray :)

If not it's just the usual Pentrating fluid job. :)

Alternatively I could just not drive Hebe till it arrives, but I'm getting cabin fever here since we live in the country, I'm not inusured to drive the Honda, and my usual escape (my bikes) aren't possible because I'm not allowed to ride them as I'm recoving from some surgery!

Nikki, you do know that Bull Motif isn't the only parts supplier don't you? Have you asked the various others that do mail order (ESM I guess being the most obvious)? Any specialist with this item in stock should be able to get one delivered to you on Saturday morning.

Having said that, I re-used my front locating pin, without any problems encountered to date (4 years, 9 months and counting..... )

OK - have found the offending aritcle - it's actually a kit including the locating plate, a pair of nuts and bolts, the stepped shaft and its nut.
