split screen rubber surround

hello folks does anyone know if the later front screen metal inserts fit a splitscreen i know they will need to be cut down but are they the same principal also is it true they are purerly cosmetic thanks gwyn

Unfortunately they arent the same and wont fit, the later ones are thicker and a different shape entirely. Split screen ones turn up sometimes on ebay and it would be worth contacting Bryan at club spares to see if he has any at the moment.

Yes purely cosmetic, they dont help keep the rubber in place at all. They are also a pig to fit properly as the lip they sit in is so tiny

Good luck in your search for them, I remember reading that one of the companies was going to produce a batch of new ones last year but havent heard any more about that yet.

The early split screen surrounds 48-49 are also different to the later split screen surrounds 50-56
