Post by hotrodder13 »

if my project minor is 1961, does that mena the indecators should be just trafficators and not front and rear

If it has trafficators - then that's what it had when new! You can of course fit later indicators if you wish.

does it matter? please do not take offence at this but your car is not original.. and showing other road users what you want to do is far more important in my opinion. so if you have wing mounted indicators keep them in my opinion. trafficators are fun to look at but really not much more use than that in modern driving conditions.. btw i have both fitted to my convertible

If you plan to use the car on the road then fit flashing indicators.
You can have the trafficators working too and have the flashing ones attached by magnets so they can be removed to make the car look original.

You can get high level brake lights with indicators for even better visibility if you like.

I wouldn't trust anyone on the road these days to notice anything much less than a flashing Christmas tree to suggest you are going to change lanes or whatever.

i've often thought about the idea of a completely smoothed rear end, with each light in a pod (beehive glass dome things) with a trafficator type arrangement. whereby they are hidden until they come on. so you put your indicator on, the pod swings down and stays down while the bulb flashes, then when your indicators go off, they stop flashing and retract back out of sight. probably quite illeagal
