I'm planning to fit a marina 1275 engine into my traveller,
I seem to remember that there was a very useful thread posted a couple of years ago that went through the whole process in some detail.
Does anyone know how to track it down...I've searched on the message board in vain.
thanks in anticipation,

Re: engine swap advice
Welcome to the forum - no idea how to track anything without getting 'swamped'.........
You need to fit the front plate from the Minor engine - and a 1098 backplate modified to clear the larger rear main (angle grinder) and the top hole opened out slightly (drill)to take the larger dowel. The 1098 flywheel needs to be drilled with 4 extra holes to suit the 1275 crankshaft - and you may need to change the oil pump (use a steel backed one) to clear the backplate 'dish'. Use an old style heater valve - and a curved top rad hose. If you want to use the starting handle - swap the 'dog' from the old engine onto the 1275. Simples !!
