HHO

Post by RobMoore »

Been doing a little light reading tonight after a conversation about HHO.
Chap I was chatting to is claiming an increase of about 15mpg after installing his self built system.
laws of physics dictate that it would cost the same in terms of energy to break down as it would in gain so I am still sceptical.
I understand that this does make fuel burn better but the thought of water in my engine (piston chamber and passing through inlet and exahust valves and out through my exhaust leaves me thinking very bad for the car, yet the claims for this addon is better mpg, better torque and even better for the engine.

I wonder has anyone tried this?

This comes up regularly - over the last 50 years as far as I know - whenever petrol prices go up. I distinctly remember it when petrol went up from 4/11 to 5 shillings...........per gallon! Yes - water injection is used on engines with high pressure turbo charging - but if it was really any use on a normal engine, I rather suspect the manufacturers would have stumbled across it by now.........

Petrol was 6/3d a gallon when I started driving. £1s worth in the tank on a Friday evening would take me 100 miles over the weekend in my ex GPO van.
Sorry,wandered off subject.
Maybe manufacturers have stumbled across it but water is free (relatively)
