1954 bonnet flashes

Post by jcrtd »

Should a 1954 split screen series 2 traveller have a chrome bonnet flash. I have noticed that other minors have painted bonnet flashes with coach line painted on.
Thanks John

If you are refering to the moulding along the side of the bonnet which continues along the side of the door then it is painted body colour with a coachline colour depending on the colour of the bodywork

Thanks for the replies. I noticed in a catalogue chrome bonnet flashes at £26 but they musn't be the part I am talking about. Will go for the painted body colour as you all say is correct.
Thanks

The chrome flash in the parts book I have refers to the centre bonnet strip

I think the part(s) you are referring to are the side bonnet strips (both side of the bonnet under which go the "Minor 1000" or "Morris Minor" badges (depending on which model you have) These taper towards a point and are painted body colour

Hi, As I was browsing this subject I noticed a beautiful speedo/instrument surround is this yours?
Are they available to purchase, or did you make it up yourself? I would be keen to get one!! Ted
