The Midget engine complete with flywheel and diaphram clutch will almost drop straight in. Use the 1098 clutch linkage and extend the lever on the relay shaft which connects to the pedal by 1 in and re drill the hole. This will restore the pedal weight and travel. Use a roller bearing thrust bearing which will last longer with the extra load on the diaphram clutch.
Fit spacing washers between the fan blades and the water pump so that the blades just clear the breather canister on the timing cover and the radiator.
The breather pipe from the canister willl need to be connected to the breather pipe on the carb or if no pipe you will need an emmission control valve.
The stabliser bar bracket which bolts on to the cyl head stud will need a V cut out of it to clear the heater tap base which is mounted at an angle. If you want to use the 1098 tap you will need to make up an adapter plate to turn the tap so that it does not catch the battery, otherwise use the earlier tap.
You will also need a 1098/1275 conversion thermostat housing to line up the top hose.

can i use the flywheel off my marina engine that is coming out of the mog, do i need to change the back plates or not ? im using a mini stub for the heater valve so it does already clear the battery and i already have a top hose that fits perfectly :D

The Marina flywheel is bigger and I am not sure about the crankshaft bolts. If you have the Midget flywheel use it, it is a lot easier

what gearbox are you using? i guess you're using a marina box, if so you will need the marina back plate. to fit that you'll have to take the flywheel off so you can put whatever flywheel you want on. if you use the midget flywheel you will need to sort out clutch cover and spinner plate. If you're then using a different flywheel and clutch cover you need to make sure your release bearing still has enough travel to engage and disengage fully.

i've seen stranger things! i've now noticed hotrodder has said he's using a moggy flywheel so i guess it could be a moggy box too. in which case the midget backplate will do fine! or supposing there's a ford five speed tucked under there then the midget backplate will do just fine for that too.

ooh... a minor flywheel wont go on a midget engine will it? minor is 4 bolt pattern and midget is 6? you can modify a minor 4 hole one to change it to a 6 bolt one, but it's gotta be done accurately. alternatively just use the midget flywheel but it's designed for a 6 1/4 inch clutch plate, as opposed to the minor 7 1/2. so you would need a new plate and cover.

i've probably confused you more now
