Rear axle/wheel bearings
When i jacked the rear of my '62 Minor up today to check the wheel bearings I noticed that the N/S rear hub has a small amount of movement in and out of the axle, but not side to side as you would expect with worn bearings, as if the half shaft wasn't tightly fitted into the axle. Could it still be a worn bearing? Or something worse?!
Re: Rear axle/wheel bearings
The big nut could be loose - better pull the brake drum off and check. However - define 'small' ?? A few thou is probably ok - but an 1/8" would be too much!

It was enough movement to make a clunk sound. I did take the brake drum off to check the nut and it still has the fold over washer on the nut so it's not loose. Not sure how much movement but I'll try and look tomorrow evening.
