Post by dellerie »

hi. my dizzy has passed it's best years now and i think the vaccum isn't working either.

i have the standard 948 engine. would this be a direct replacement as it seems very cheap

If you want the 'electronic' version - then yes it will fit nicely. However the non-electronic ones are half the price...... and that's what I would get. But personal choice......if you have the readies - just GO for it!

Look here ... http://stores.ebay.co.uk/AccuSpark-Igni ... 1000213487 ... to see more. Also, the 45D does not have the vernier adjustment like the 25D but that's a "niggle" they're a good buy.

No - it comes with a new cap I believe ? That's part of the 'improvement' - larger cap with greater spacing between the terminals = less chance of arcing over.

Why not get a standard dizzy then add the electronic later, so if you dont like it change it back.
Trouble with electronic if it goes wrong on a trip how do you test it at the road side. Points condenser rotor arm are easy to to check or replace .
As the AA man said think it might be your electronic ignition I phone for the Tow Truck

Probably - but as above - if it fails you are stranded. Carry the old dizzy with you just in case! Then it will NEVER fail. :-?

I think you will find that if it did fail you can just remove the module and replace with points & condensor and be on your way.
Cheers
