Painting Garden Furniture

My plastic table and chairs are looking a bit weathered after a few years in the sun.

I intend to spray them with cellulose in a nice rustic green colour.

What is the view on primer?
Or should I just spray direct with cellulose?

I've tried dabbing some on somewhere out of sight and it looks ok with out primer, but which will last longest?

I'm sure I'm not the only one to try this any helpful hints would be welcome.

Any overspray I may have accidentally got onto any garden furniture when painting car bits has never come off - to the point that I have ben instructed to paint the furniture to hide the mess !!!! - Just go for it

Agree with PSL. Son used the plastic table to spray his wing 2006. Garden table now trafalgar blue has'nt come off yet!

(We've now got a wooden one and no he's not going to use that!)

unless you use correct plastic primer and top coat it will flake off and look worse than before have you used any of the products for cleaning garden furniture or pvc windows

B&Q have special paint for painting plastic. Is it called Plasticoat or something?

If you use the wrong stuff it will just flake off.

More used to doing paintings than chairs I am afraid
