Just bought my first minor 1000, dove grey (should that be light blue?)
1962 series 3 with 948cc engine, think it could be a de-luxe as the seats are two tone - it is going to need a bit of work before I can put it in for an MOT
Not seen the floor yet, but the well in the back of the boot is shot, previous owner topped up brake fluid every couple of weeks until he forgot and had no more brakes! so its been parked up for a about a year, cant start it as yet, think thats down to the distributer cap, where there should be electrodes there are only powdery stumps! Will also need to replace the cubby holes and the parcel shelf - they sag worse than me!
I am a member of some other clubs due to interests in kit cars and off roading and hope to make full use of this club and hopefully contribute some too!

Hi and welcome to the messageboard.
Dove grey is actually light grey, the light blue colour is smoke grey :)

Thanks for the welcome.
Mine looks like a light blue, lighter than the one in the pic and it is not as dark as the grey one - but it has had some work done in the past, when I got it home it was cats and dogs, so I'll take a pic on the am and you will see what I have.

Welcome Dave, your car is 48, it's entitled to sag a bit!

That's what I like to see good honest pictures Dave, I've got some rusty areas in the boot, in almost the same place, that's reminded me to treat them before winter :D

your colour will be a bit brighter if you clean/polish the paintwork - the oxide will make it look whiter.

The doors look very good considering the general condition of the car - normally all 4 doors would be shot on a tatty 4 door.
however as there are already replacement wings on it, maybe the doors have been repaired/replaced/bodged up in the past.
Hopefully not bodged, but I've seen some interesting things over the years!

Starting problem solved, got a new cap, was side entry but differed by 90 deg. replaced the leads with longer and shielded ones and she runs fine.
Master Cylinder will be first main job, I have a replacement wing which will go on after a good clean up. floor seems awfully weak, what thickness steel should it be? there is that much crud on it I am worried about cleaning it away.
