MG Midget Exhaust

I, I just have obtained a 1275 midget engine with a performance exhaust. Looking at my midget I cannot see why I cant fit the exhaust on the morris in a similar manner. IE below the diff. Has anyone done this and any downsides? chris

I think that you will have trouble with the down pipe and silencer clearing the crossmember

I considered doing that - and even loosely rigged up the pipe - and decided against it. But you are right - if it works on a Spridget - why not on a mInor? I suspect the answer comes with the relatively long travel suspension of the Minor - the exhaust will have to hang very low to allow the axle to droop away from the body when cornering hard to the left!

The Sprite/Midget is based on the A30/35/40 floorpan, which is quite different to the Minor, so I don't think it is feasible to fit any part of the exhaust system without significant modification, particularly an LCB manifold, to a Minor. The cast iron inlet/exhaust manifold does fit, I believe, but no advantage over the standard Minor one.

Need to find one designed for the Minor or make one up from standard components, such as Jetex, sold direct or by Demon Tweeks in two sizes that would be of interest to modified A-Series - 1.75" or 2" o/d systems. If connecting to an LCB, making one up is really quite straightforward.

A three branch exhaust manifold for a Midget will not fit a Minor as it will not line up with the exit from the engine bay.
