Traveller side window glass replacement.

I have recently acquired a 1969 Morris Traveller and may need to replace the glass o/s sliding side window (front section). Advice on how to do it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Steve do you mean the actual glass or the runners the glass slides in.
To start you will need to remove the interior fillets below the glass level then the metal strip, it should then be obvious what you need to do next, remove all traces of dum dum and then pull/push the glass inwards at the lower section and it will come forward with the runner and you then need to pull it downwards to clear the upper runner, it will be best to have the window partially open so its clear of the end channel.
Why do you need to remove the glass as a matter of interest.

Thanks for your advice Kevin. I think I may need to replace the window which is quite badly scratched towards the bottom, it looks like it my have been caused by sandpaper by a previous keeper when sanding the wood frame. I assume refitting is the opposite of removal, with fresh dum dum applied?

You are probably right about the sandpaper and yes fresh dum dum is advisable, just be sure not to do what happened to me, my wife when to pick some up from our local motor factor and came back with gum gum
