steering wheel

Post by gammy126 »

I'm looking to buy a 3 spoked steering wheel for my 1966 2 door moggie .
There are several on ebay , my question is would a steering wheel from a 1962 traveler fit mine .also would my horn of my 2 spoke wheel fit the one off the traveller.

Any help or advice welcome.
Many thanks.

The early wheel will fit - check the rim is ok before buying! I have the early spoke wheel on my Traveller - it is much nicer I think. But you will need the correct horn push for the wheel - not the 2 spoke push.

The simple answer is no the 2 spoke horn push will not fit the earlier wheel in fact they are quite difficult to find in good condition. I advertised in the 'Wanted' section for a '3 spoke' horn push for ages until a kind gent from Malta sent me one. You do get them on fleabay normally seperate from the wheel but be careful and get the corect one its sometime quite difficult with a small foto and no information from the seller.
As BMC says they are much nicer and quite restorable.
