Correct size Wiper arms

Post by pjh56 »

Has anybody bought new wiper arms for a late saloon lately. I bought two supposedly NOS,as recommended, went to fit them today and they are 1 1/2 inches too long, therefore way off the windscreen. If somebody could tell me where they have got their correct parts from I would be grateful.
I'm getting pretty hacked off these days as it seems every part I seem to buy for my car is either of rubbish quality or doesn't fit.

Thanks
Peter

I bought nos late type wiper arms at the national this year. It turned out that they are telescopic / adjustable.
Yours maybe are as well.

These I have you can extend further but you can't shorten them.

You can definitely get the correct ones from Morris Minor Centre Birmingham or Tom Roy, and probably most of the other traders as well. Birmingham offer heavy duty ones (from a Mini) that work really well, but on some cars the bonnet, when opened, will catch the heavy duty arms.

I bought them of a independent stall holder, he goes every year but I don't know his name. I usually buy nos oil filters(£1) / service items of him. N Ireland bunch nearly cleaned him out this year, he drives a traveller.
