Hello, I am replacing my dynamo tommorrow in my 1957 morris 1000 due to it not charging the batt, i pretty sure i know what to do but I just wondered if any one had anything that springs to mind to do whilst replacing this

It probably just needs brushes - very easy to fit. You may need to polarise a new dynamo when fitted - by 'flashing' a length of wire from the non-earth side of the battery onto the small terminal on the dynamo a couple of times. Check the state of the fan belt too - good time to fit a new one - keep the old one for a spare. Carry it inside the well of the spare wheel.

Leave all the bolts slack until they are all in place.
This applies to loads of things, get all the nuts or bolts started first.
If you fully tighten the first one, the chances are you'll have to undo it again so the others will go in.
