I just wondered if the standard Transit van would swallow a Moggy shell. I've got to transport my shell from Cardiff to Chippenham and wondered if I could save a lot of effort and get a Mog inside a Tranny van or a Tranny Luton with a tail lift.
(Colonials will wonder what the heck I'm talking about)
I wouldn't recommend it. How do you propose to secure the load? Moggie tyres and smooth van flooring is not exactly a velcro combination in the dry - let alone if you load it up wet! If you brake hard the car will crash through the fibreglass shell and into the cab no problem. If your hit up the rear the mog may end up on the bonnet of the vehicle behind. Either way you'd be in deep doo-doos with Plod at the very least.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.
He did say Moggie (??) shell. I assume not a dead cat - so probably a Morris Minor bare shell! Would be good to pad it with old tyres though - to stop it banging about too much.
Looks like it will have to be a Luton Van. The tail lift will make it possible to do it single-handed so long as I am careful. It is still bolted to that rolling trolley frame so that the front will be inside the van even before the trolley gets onto the tail lift.
PS The trolley will be avaiable for sale once I've finished with it. Anyone interested?
