Damaged Bonet

Post by mickm »

I got up early yesterday to service the morris before the heat arrived. During which I noticed that I deen to replace the steering rack gators, and a wheel cyilinder which has started to weep. Job done we set off for a ride out. BUT I didn't shut the bonnet properly and it flew up just a few milse from home. So Now I need someone to help me sort the mess out!! We intend going to The South of France in 5 weeks time. Can anyone sugest a good reliable body man near Halstead in north Essex.

Is it just the bonnet that was damaged? If so you could just bolt another one on to get you out of trouble and it's just a paint job then.

Post and ad here in the 'wanted' forum?

There's usually a few bonnets on e-bay and most of them seem to go cheaply. And if you look through the adverts in Minor Matters quite a few traders stock secondhand spares eg Minor Services Ely, Minor Parts of Oxford etc and someone in Kent is advertising one for sale in the small ads section.

Edit: Here's one in Bedford with a 'buy it now' price of £10 and it's the right colour: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Morris-1000-Bonne ... 335e22ca48

Theres a 'free' one going on the other forum - but if you can one the right colour for £10 - grab it! Did it hold on the support latch - or did that tear out and let the bonnet smash into the screen ? Did the hinges hold ???
