Ahh - the tele dampers may be the problem then....... Not all kits are all they could be. In winter - folks may in the past have increased the rear load - to aid traction in slippery conditions. But this would not be a general aid for 'handling'. But I do agree - my van wheels with the 155 tyres are far better than the original narrow wheels and 155 tyres! But for the whole car - not especially for the rear end!

Hence my change of rear wheels to the larger van version.
My Traveller has telescopic dampers 'all round' which are fairly new and certainly improve the ride.I am shortly (once new engine swap completed) to change all bushes for poly an item omitted by the previous tenant.
No don't remember having to do that with the Traveller either, but the couple of MK1 cortina estates I owned needed a concrete fencing spur behind the rear seat in the winter.
As Roy has mentioned the rear tele kits do vary, is there any chance of popping a photo up so we can see because one type is prone to causing the metalwork to split over time.

And - the dampers are too short stroked and mounted at an angle............. :cry:
