The title of the Subject Header sounds a bit sensational. Sorry about that. I need a bit of info.
The subject header is true in a way as this one was locked away in 1977 and not seen again until 2009.
Came to me last week (windfall is the best word to use).
Have never worked on a motor this old before. Previouse restorations have been from the 60s, so the layout is a bit alien.
Been doing a lot of surfing (used to call it research before the internet came along).
But as far as my knowledge of this particular Moggy goes, it is still very early days for me.
The ID plate on the bulkhead tells me that she is -
* Morris Minor Series-2
* Four door
* Dark grey
* Right-hand drive
* This car was for export
(The last bit was a big surprise)
The Heritage Centre gave me a date of December 1953 from the licence plate.
The Moggy needs a lot of work but is very sound. However, I have not got off scot-free - the wiring is an absolute mess. probably the reason she was locked away and forgoten about. In the past, someone has a had a go at by-passing some faulty wiring. In doing so I think they have altered where some of the switches are supposed to be. We have no idea where the indicator switch is. Inspected every inch of the dash (and under it). Nothing!
I have been reading up as much as I can on this particular model and got some way towards an answer.
Can anyone help
1) Which model of indicator switch is it
2) Where is the correct postion for this switch
A couple more question come to mind.
1) What is the little pull-switch on the top rim of the dash for? I am refering to the one in the middle at the top edge (nearly touches the windscreen). At this time it does nothing!
2) This car has a manual windscreen washer. Is that original?
And yes, I have ordered a workshop manual
Until then, can anyone help me with the questions I have so I can make a start.

Re: Never before seen Morris Minor Series-2
hello there.
Well a 4 door saloon, should have a trafficator switch on the driverside, underneath the dash. It should also have clockwork return on it. There were pictures posted of one but cant find them at the present. Someone will i sure give you the correct part number for one, but im away from my lists at present
The switch in the centre of the dash is to operate the windscreen wipers, pull it up to turn them on. As for the washers, the car would never have come with them, but a manual pump would be correct if you follow kits at the time.
hope that helps a bit

I would advise that you buy a new wiring loom, you can have them to original spec or custom made by Autosparks and others, then at least you know that the electrics are not going to catch fire when you start it up.
