MG Metro Turbo Cam

Post by Hendy1201 »

Hi, I am looking for an MG metro cam to go in a 1275 midget engine (been told its the one to go for). Is the MG metro turbo cam any good, I don't know much about the turbos and would just like a bit of advice please. Thanks.

NO! It is a standard 1275 cam unfortunately! Only the one from the MG Metro, or the early 1300 Maestro, so rumour has it, will fit(how else did they get 69BHP out of the 1.3 Maestro?)

If/when you do find such a cam - be aware you will need to get a spade drive (long shaft) oil pump to use with it! And yes - I confirm - the MG turbo cam is NOT the one you want!

I can help you out with the long shaft pump.....

1275=long shaft and 2 hole fixing
998/1098= short shaft pump and 3 hole fixing

I won't forget that one in a hurry!
