Best car insurance

Post by southerly95 »

I'm not sure that James Footman is giving best value in the way that AON did. Is it my particular circumstances (3 MM's, 3 drivers on one policy) that are pushing premiums up perhaps?

Are there any other classic car companies out there that people are using? Thanks, John

I'm not an expert on insurances but my parents' modern car renewal quote came through at £100 more than last year. Simply by looking an the comparison sites they found most others was that £100 less. Not sure if companies are pushing renewals up cheekily, worth a look though.
Hope this helps :)

I just got quoted £492.90 fully comp from FJ - to start the day I pass my test. I'm 18, female with a 4-door standard saloon.

So you are being insured on the provisional license? I shouldn't imagine it will go up too much once you have passed will it?

I think it DOESNT work till the test from whats written there.

I will be going with Adrian Flux. They have quoted about 150 for Mona. I also have a havily modified Mk4 Golf which is with them (50% more power than standard) which is around the 600 mark, the also cover my missises stock Corsa.
When the time comes Igor and m Bike will probably go with them

Having passed my test yesterday I went hunting for insurance deals on my Jeremy-beast - FJ asked for £755 fully comp, that's after having explained I'm a member of the MMOC!
I'm 21 and female, I really didn't think it would be anything over £600. Either way, Lancaster gave me a quote of £650 fully comp, which I've taken up.

limegreen - I've just returned the favour - your moggie key seems so.. BIG. :o
I'd been getting quotes since the day I bought him, and over the past year and half they've gradually wormed their way down from about £900. £492.90 is a superb quote - hope it sticks to that for when you pass!

Ah yeah - that's the green mog's key - she had a new ignition a few years ago! XTX's key is a lot smaller!
FJ have promised to keep their quote for me, and my test is today at 1:38! Eee! This will b emy second one, and I am fully ready for it this time.. last time not so much.

Oh good luck - I'm sure you'll sail through! :D
I love it when people see my car key. They always assume it's a shed key..

Always used RH for classics - includes Roadside and Recovery - so can't be bad!

I am going to get a Morris Minor soon (am still searching for one), I'm 17 (male) and am about to start learning to drive. I'll only want to use the Morris after I've passed, but it'll be my only motor, so I'll do more milage than classics insurance will allow. Any tips for getting cheap (my parents will insist it's Fully Comp) insurance and is it possible to get quotes before i've got a specific car in mind or a full driving license?

Yes - phone the insurance companies directly. Ignore gocompare/comparison websites - they gave me rediculous quotes!

Thanks, any good insurance companies and to the other part of my question, is it too premature to start getting quotes?

I've been with Peter Best (http://www.peterbestinsurance.co.uk/) for many years and all my cars are on risk with them. I'm told I am one of their oldest customers.....I mean in terms of the time I've been with them  . I had a good head of hair when I first had a policy with them.
