other than 20 pounds a side, what is the difference between the clap hand wiper wheel box and the later 1098 wheel box?
the reason i ask is i need to replace at least one if not both! for you of you with a good memory I asked about the wipers hitting the bonnet in a previous post... the reason I found is that on one side the wheel box is so corroded they had used insulating tape to keep it together and there was a lot "scrunched" up at the top and the other side has been araldited on!!

Series MM/11 rack and wheel boxes. Note wheel boxes are opposite ways up in order to give clap hand motion

1098 wheel box and Series MM/11 wheel box. Note it is important to ensure that the outside rack clamp screws are tight on the MM wheel boxes to prevent the rack from moving and to ensure that the full sweep is achieved.

Re: wheel box differences
thanks for the photos mike.. and especially the bit about them being mounted differently..
I suppose my question could have been better phrased as is there any reason why i can not fit a 1098 wheel box to a clap hand car?

Re: wheel box differences
Not sure what a 948 wheel box looks like. If it is the same as one of those in the photo then you just need one each way up. All should be revealed when you take the old ones out
