fuel gauge

when i filled up today my fuel gauge only went to half full ??? (yes i did put plenty of fuel in :lol: :lol: :lol: ) what can it be :-?

Maybe it was half-empty ? Depends on your outlook on life I guess.......
Could be stuck float - or punctured float. Has it been ok up to now ?

have you been playing around / moving the speedo, the gauge could have moved slightly and the needle can not move past the half way point.. have you tried tapping the gauge to see if it moves over the half way mark?

yes i had the speedo out to fit a new cable. i have never filled the tank before !!! but were off to visit family soon so topped it up ready :-? :-? :-?

Have you checked the voltage regulator. Mine always read 1/2 full with a full tank till I changed the regulator. Now it works perfectly

What year is your car? Does it have a voltage regulator? Only 1098s normally have them. Sorry I meant voltage stabiliser.

its a 63, but has a twincam engine :wink:
