wheels

Post by singleton »

Hello, just wondering if there are any other wheels which fit a standard 68 morris minor? I like the deeper van type wheels, but these seem rare to come buy and command good money, so are there any other wider alternatives besides minlites? I have seen moggies with peugeot 205/309gti style wheels on them, would these cars have different hubs on them?

Only recent car with 4" pcd wheels was the Mini. But the 13" wheels used on the last models are quite deeply dished, so that may be/is likely to be a problem. Earlier cars with 4" wheels were Spridgets/Viva/Imp. NO modern car wheels will fit. You must NOT try to use 100mm pcd wheels - they WILL bend the studs and they WILL snap, possibly losing you a wheel and the resultant accident may involve skidding into a line of kids on the way to skool.......... Not a great idea.
Edited to correct mistype - was 110 mm pcd.

Thanks bmcecosse for the advise. Bit limited with choice then, prob why the wide van wheels are so common!

My only comment on Rostyles are that as they are 13" and they original Morris wheels were 14" they don't completely "fill" the wheel arch. Perfectly acceptable though. :D
