jacked up the car this morning to have a look what needed wax oiling, and noticed a drip, poked the area with my finger and a small drip soon developed into a fist sized hole in the floor under the sill.
what thickness of metal is required to fix the hole in the floor?
floor welding

Re: floor welding
I use 1mm on unstressed areas and 1.5mm for floors, chassis etc. Don't know if this is "correct" as per factory but it's always worked OK for me

Re: floor welding
You will need to be a bit more aggressive to find metal good enough to weld to.
Also be aware that Waxoyl is flammable, so do any welding that's needed first.

Hi
I agree with PSL - the original floor is 1mm (20swg) and chassis sections are generally 1.5mm (16swg)
Better to put in the thicker steel if in any doubt.
