I need a reliable garage in Essex - HELP!

Please can someone help me, I live in a small town called South Woodham Ferrers which is near Southend-on-sea and Chelmsford.
I'm looking for a reliable Morris Minor aware garage to deal with the fixing etc of My Morris. My Local Garage does nothing but muck me around!

Anyone out there know of anywhere??!! PLEASE!

What is it that needs fixing exactly? If servicing or mechanical stuff it's not too hard to do yourself, ask specific questions on here. If it's welding that's more problematic and expensive and you might have to go out of your local area. I'm in your area now (well Southend) and use JLH for welding but there's the cost of moving the car (under own steam or by trailer) to add to the cost.

Did you contact the Essex branch as suggested earlier? I'm sure someone there will be able to provide details of a local 'Minor friendly' garage.

Well it's all general stuff really. Don't think i will be able to do much myself. No i haven't contacted them yet, How do i do it??!!

Essex Branch contact is Desmond Brick 0 one two 77 - 6 five 3 one one 5. If you join the branch (quite cheap) then there is a branch technical adviser who spent a life-time working on Minors.

If you need mechanical expertise then this board is really good, but you do need specific questions. If you need a local welder then I can recommend a really good mobile chap who comes to you.

Assuming that you are a member of the MMOC then there is the National Technical Adviser, details in Minor Matters, and that service is also free.

I can reccomend a garage in Benfleet on Manor Trading Estate called Cartec. I have used them for the last 15 years I take my two modern cars there and for the last 18 months I have taken my 62 moggy. One of there mechanics called Steve runs a frogeye sprite and several lambrettas. They also do bodywork to a high standard. Regards Steve
