Floor panel

Post by maverick »

Im just about to weld the floor in but there is a huge lip on the panel that i bought that runs along side the door sill but it is proud of the floor line (like ridge that you have to step over to get out of the car).
Do i just cut it level with the ridge or with a little lip just for it to rest against the ridge???
Sorry for being confusing!
Thanks

Hi

The floor repair panels vary but you just use what you need of them so your not leaving any rusty bits - trim off the remainder.

The ridge along the line of the step sill is there so you can fit the floor panel in from the top over the little flange along the step sill. The original floor construction went under this flange and continued outwards underneath to just before the boxing panel. This is now made as a seperate repair section.

If you want to replicate the original, you can hammer the ridge out!

Hope this helps
