Minor Million Wheel Embellishers

Post by ayr41 »

Could anyone tell me where I might be able to get some replacement wheel embellisher for my Million, they are the chrome ring type that fit just inside the wheel. Had a look on ebay, what size would I need from a different car if I could not get any new. I have tried all the main MM spares suppliers. Many thanks for any help.

There's a few ideas here:

Or try contacting Philip Smith from the Million Register as he might be able to help: minormillion@mac.com

If you can't get Million ones look out for 14 inch rim embellishers although they tend to be a bit wider than the Million ones. A set of 4 just sold on ebay for around £35 although one needed completely re-chroming, and I found a good set at an autojumble a few weeks ago, so they do come up for sale occasionally.

MGB GT wheels are 14" and the MG spares places do the "beauty rings" as they call them - Not sure if they are the same a Million rings though?

Not a great photo, but as a comparison here's a picture of some standard rim imbellishers. As you can see they fit to the edge of the rim whereas the Million one's fit around half-way in from the rim. Not sure if I'll keep them on but at the moment they're hiding some rust patches on the wheels :D :
Image
Thanks Louis and Nigel,

Nice photos. I did not know or have seen something like that here. Well even for the standard outer rim embellish-er, it is still looking fantastic. Hrm the only way i can do that is to chrome my whole wheel and tape the outer rim to get the look :-?

Frank - I found mine at a local classic car autojumble. I wasn't actually looking for any but they were such a bargain price I thought it would be silly not to buy them. They come up on e-bay from time to time too.

Wheel Embellishers:

Post by Fingolfin »

In the United States, we call them beauty rings, or at least my dad and several mechanics in the area do. I don't suppose there's a standard name even in Missouri, much less my entire country or the Western Hemisphere.

In my wreck, one ring popped off into the grass and was unharmed, and two were on the wrong side to be harmed, but the remaining one was bent into a horseshoe shape. :o Bull Motif calls them ACC 121, 'wheel trims.' A set of four is ₤28.90. (I'm assuming this is them -- I can't imagine what else it would be.)
