Live heater wire

Post by lesrollins »

I know it seems a stupid question where does the live wire from the heater go ? I have just brought a 1956 split screen moggie and the heater was not working. So I dismantled all the pipe work disconnected the earth wire followed the live wire and discovered it went nowhere. Whilst the heater was out I ran it across the battery and it works fine. I have looked at the wiring diagrams in the old manuals I had with the car but they do not show the heater. Cheers :o

Just anywhere there is a live Ign fed source - white wire - or green if you want it to be through the fuse, which is the norm. See Barry's excellent wiring diagram at the head of the Electrical section. print one off and keep it in the car!

I cant find it in the wiring diagram, but from memory I think it comes from the back of the wiper switch. I will check the next time Im up working on the traveller.

Manual page N44, items 18 & 19 show it wired into the B terminal of the voltage stabilizer which you have not got. Ref the topic under electrics.
Can you please not duplicate your topics as it makes life difficult for those trying to follow the problem.
