My minor starts but doesn't keep running is it the points needs cleaning or could it be something else?

If it starts - then stops - look to fuel supply problem! Is the fuel pump ticking ?

Exactly the problem I had the other week, I opted for a replacement fuel pump (will get new brushes for the old one and keep as a spare). Works fine now.

I've already told you it's likely to be fuel! Why are you so fixated on 'points'?????????

Dead right it is mate! I've cleaned the fire out - and emptied the ashpan. Maybe the tubes are blocked ? Or - maybe it's the POINTS that are against it!!
