I am contemplating modifying a saloon to a convertible. Being of a tidy nature I would like to V5 log book to reflect this new body type.
Does anybody know how this is done?
As you can see, I am a newbie, so if this has been covered before, sorry, maybe you could point me to the existing thread.
Thanks, Henry

Welcome to the messageboard and don't forget to take a look at the 'new member?' sticky at the top of this forum for some useful info.
In a previous thread it was suggested that you should contact the DVLA to advise them of the changes and they may ask to inspect the vehicle. If you are a club member you can also contact the Technical Tips man Rob Thomasson for advice.

I have now spoken to VOSA about the need for an individual vehicle aproval (IVA used to be SVA) test and the DVLA about changing the body type. They were both very helpful (surprisingly?).
It would appear that if you tell them what you are intending, get written acknowledgement from the local DVLA office and stick to it, there shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks for your welcome - I have read the sticky, Henry
