Hi all, would anyone know what has caused this tarmac to dissolve. It looks like oil, diesel or brake fluid to me but I haven't seen anything dissolve the tarmac like this before.
For once I can't get the blame as I wasn't there didn't see nothing etc. I do get the job of trying to repair it though, do you think I will have to dig out a square taking away the affected area completely?
Diesel kills tarmac pretty fast. I'm guessing oil will do the same.

I've not seen oil do that kind of damage - however diesel will dissolve it pretty well. A blowlamp and some tar should reset it.
However unless it's had diesel dripped in the same spot for a long time, this could be something else... In which case it would need to coe out - personally I'd try a repair before cutting out but it's far from my area of expertise.
