Yes, but check the gearbox is original as there have been many cars which have had replacements over the years. The outer casing should be smooth without reinforcing ribs. You can use the ribbed box (and it's stronger) but some here have reported compatibility issues related to the thickness of the engine backplate.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.
If the price is right - grab it anyway - provided it has the 'remote control' fitted - and is not the very early gearbox which had a long 'magic wand' gearstick. But - have you or the seller any idea what condition it is in ? Maybe (in fact quite likely!) it was removed from a Minor because it was knackered! Way to tell is to take the side cover off - and inspect the little dog-teeth (not the gear teeth) on the gear faces. These should be sharp and well defined - not worn down to stumps!<br>

On the right of the picture is 4th gear - and the teeth there are in pretty good condition (they always are) - in the middle is 3rd gear - teeth look ok too - on the left though is 2nd gear - and these teeth are somewhat worn - lthough they may work ok for a while they are not in best condition! If they are any worse than that in your prospective purchase - best to not bother!

In this second picture - of a reconditioned gearbox - the dog teeth on all the gears are in similar excellent condition!

Thanks for the quick answers and the fantastic pictures. I haven't contacted the seller yet so I don't know how much he is asking for it. This is one of 13 Minor parts listed in his ad so I suppose he must have owned a Moggy at some time and got these parts left over when he got rid of the car. I'll contact him tonight and see what he says.
