SHY Lives & Breathes..... and heats !!!!!

Post by shymoggie »

Hi all,

I think I have resolved the heating issues with SHY

In short, I changed all the hoses, flush gallons of clean water through, put in new water pump, shook the radiator warmly by the throat to empty the sludge out and then set off to check the heating.

Still the same, toasty and warm whilst idling, half a mile at 40mph cool and getting colder

So, it is my considered opinion that the heater matrix is bunged up somewhere and that the fresh air intake provides more fresh air than the meagre amount of hot water can heat.

The answer ???? FINGERLESS GLOVES :o :o Basically I have put a rubber glove over the air intake, chopped the end off the 4 fingers and reduced the cold air into the stodgy matrix. Now whilstling down the local (private) roads at 70+.... lovely warm air...... tootling through town at 20 in traffic.... lovely warm air...... just my luck I fixed the heater now the car's tooooo hot to sit in due to the sun

Thanks all for your help..... see you soon !!

Steve, there's an unfinished project pickup in Practical classics for £1,500 with a fiat twin cam engine swap.. new chassis too. Looks like it just needs rewiring & finishing off....
