passenger door lock

Post by markthe45king »

mine appears to have jammed in the locked position - any ideas on how to unlock it?

the internal handle seems pretty solidly jammed - so brute force may be out!

Have you tried prising off the door panel off to see if it's sticking somewhere?

If you carefully remove the doorcard (fixes to the door with push in clips) all the door mechanism is revealed. Sometimes just a good general grease will free it.

On my passenger side I had the same problem which was caused by a little clip breaking off which moved the handle's locking mechanism in and out when the little lock/flipper thing was moved. I had to take the panel and windows off to remove the handle in order to replace the clip.

A quick peek around after the card has been removed should reveal all.
