CHASSIS NUMBER

HI - I HAVE BEEN LED TO BELIEVE THAT MY MORRIS SHOULD HAVE IT'S CHASSIS NUMBER STAMPED ON THE BODY SOMEWHERE, SECONDARY TO THE METAL PLATE RIVETED UNDER THE BONNET. IS THIS TRUE AND CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHERE I MIGHT FIND IT? ANY HELP/ADVICE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED THANKS JO

It should be stamped on the engine compartment bulkhead alongside the accelerator cable guide bracket. There are exceptions though.

Some later cars are stamped on the floor near the master cylinder, though lots of floors have been replcaed due to rust!
