clutch adjusted to the limit

Post by cadetchris »

my clutch pedal goes down about 2inch and then the clutch engages. i adjusted the little nut along the rod under the car, but this hasnt solved it.
the plate is new, so it cannot of worn that quickly.

any ideas why its doing this?

Worn linkages and bushes! Is it also a new carbon thrust bearing ?

So, two inches free play, as I understand you.

It could be something to do with all the links and bushes between the pedal and the release arm. Best to get underneath for a look. As I remember, there are little brass bushes in the rubber bushes. Lots there that wear out!

There is a bronze bush where the relay rod fits into the chassis. Another place for wear.
