brake lights

Post by tomjobling »

I have brake lights that are staying on all the time when the ignition is on and when started - could this be the pressure switch? or what?

Hi and welcome Tom
Either pressure switch or a short circuit.
If you disconnect the wires at the switch and it stays on, then check the wiring.

Tom,
I assume you don't have a problem with your brakes at all??

If the breather in the cap becomes blocked or the master cylinder piston doesn't return fully, then pressure can build up in the system while driving & activate the brake switch.

If the brakes are OK, then follow Ray's suggestion :D .
