Does a 1959 convertible have interior light?

Post by Billingsc »

I have a 1959 convertible and am wondering if this car had an interior light installed in it.

As far as I'm aware, no Minor convertibles have interior lights fitted as standard. In saloons thay are fitted slightly forward from the central windscreen pillar but obviously this can't apply to convertibles. However if a saloon has been converted to a convertible it might still have the interior light switch buttons, visible when the doors are open.

The corner strengthening plates would seem to be a good place to fit interior lights.
