Theoretical question about V5 Engine number and capacity
Just theorising of course but if your V5 didnt have the engine number or the cc of the engine currently in your car on it, would you bother telling DVLA that you had changed the engine for say a slightly larger one?

I'll see you on the otherside'!

Yep done that just waiting of their reply with new premium, thats if they will cover me. (I mean thats exactly what I would do in theory)
DVLA seem to be asking for reciepts and names of garages that performed the engine swaps at the moment (if you need to tell them).

This is great, not having the engine number or size on the log book I can swap engines to my hearts content and not worry about losing points on the idiotic SVA system for originality or providing proof of fittment.
Often wonder how they check the gearbox and back axle are originals anyway, maybe they should say 'original type'

Yes its seems a particularily dumb thing to ask, I was going to use the Protection of information act, routine to cover mine. (Fitted by a fully time served mechanical engineer from the Nuclear industry, who had signed the official secrets act! -- ME!) and see what their reply to that was, but I never got asked.
