Crazy 4 door Traveller

Post by dunketh »

I'm sure I've seen this before - most of you lot probably have - but I've not seen any 'restored' photos of it.

Pinched the link from someone elses reply in another topic.

Yes it's a member's car from Wiltshire(?) I think. It's been to the last 2 Nationals and also featured in Minor Monthly. I think it was made for the Duke of Bedford (Woburn Abbey) for shooting party transport in the late '60's

I have seen that at last years National and spoke to the very nice couple who own the car.

Just a minor correction to the topic: It is actually a three door traveller as it has the extra door only on the left hand side.

Or a five door if you count the back doors as well

Hmm, this is a very interesting car, it's actually based on a van chassis, hence it has the shorter front doors.

It was in the show arena on the lawn at Stanford Hall.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

shorter doors needed to allow room for a rear door ;-)

I especially like the ranger-rover style rear door arrangement.
This would be the perfect trav for me. A normal one is no good as I need at least one rear door. A saloon is no good as theres nowhere to put the dog.

My dog refuses to travel in the boot of the traveller. His place is on the passenger seat he says  (with his harness of course!)
