MM / Series 2 Radiator

Post by MaltaMM »

Hi All,

As has been posted in the wanted section, I am looking for a USHM3 engine and gearbox to convert my 1952 MM back to original specification. Till now I have not had any luck but I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of genuine help I received. Thanks to all those who sent an email.

I have in my possession a high domed Series 2 radiator. Can this radiator be fitted to the Series MM after switching the sides of the top and bottom hose inlets? Is it just the sides of the hose inlets which is different from the MM radiator, ie is the top tank otherwise identical and are the mounting points the same?

Thanks,
Stu

I think you will find the top tank on the MM is quite a bit bigger (deeper) than the Series 2 and the hose connections besides being on different sides are also much larger on the MM. I believe they were larger for the thermo syphon system to work correctly.
I think the rads mount in the same manner.
