Damper Oil

Post by edjones »

Hi All,

I need to replace the oil in all 4 dampers on my 1966 saloon, any suggestions as to which modern oil is suitable in the event of the original 20/20 being unobtainable?

Thanks

I use Comma Jack Oil. Suitable for hydraulic jacks etc.

I used heavy duty motorcycle fork oil in my shockers to give firmer damping. Some people poo-poo this idea saying they are not up to it but, although the car has been sold on I have not been informed of any problems yet (1 year later) and they certainly performed well.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.
