If so they may already know about this forum:

It is excellent - in the same way this forum is excellent. Very polite, informative and entertaining. Your registration, should you want to join, will be approved or otherwise by the administration team, so you may have to wait a couple of days to get your activation link.

Thanks for that! Another forum to trawl. Maybe one day I'll get down to building that top-end linear turntable :-?

I think you'll be happy there!

There's a good 'sticky' somewhere (probably DIY) about making your own perspex cover for turntables and amps.

I looked at other forums on home audio (I'm not a 'nut' but I like a good sound) and nowhere came close to the quality of this one.

Thanks for the link, I've got some old Hi-fi gear to shoot on, but it seems there's no 'for sale' section.

Best place to stick the B & O is ebay but not right now as things are very quiet on there. Don't expect much though as its a bit too old ( see http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=336 ) to be worth a lot, the 80's B&O stuff fetches better money.

Thanks for that, interesting write-up. It may be worth installing it in the garage!

Got a couple of B&O 4600s

Image

one for my mum for her records and one at home for records and radio too. Oh and a valve radio in my back room that I have to sort the tuner on. The B&Os sound lovely for something that came off Ebay for £20 :) I'd also like to get a 5500 system

with the linear tracking but they are a bit pricy and I'm happy enough with the Beocenter.

Make sure you do the research on B&O stuff......I got to know a chap who was picking up stuff from recycling centres in Bucks to sell on Ebay and at car boots - apparently the old-style B&O phones are worth quite a bit. The styling of their equipment seems to have a cult following!

I second all that I am a confirmed B&O junkie and love all their stuff from 40's to present. One of my fav pieces is an MX tv which is cathode ray,10 years old and has styling to die for.Lcd's and Plasma just don't come close in terms of asthetics when turned off.
