Hmm fibreglass doors are available again - who's making them?

Oh, as a fibreglass door user I'll add my 2p.

Pros: Won't rust, weight saving

cons: tendancy to sag, lack of side impact protection, accuracy of molding, difficult to attach window frame so that it is completely rigid with the door.

If I ever get time I'm going to make the best of both worlds by using an original door with the outer skin and bottom removed (the bits that rust), adding some steel side impact bars and skinning with a fibreglass outer and under panel. Should be do-able in a lockup I think.

Are theirs steel reinforced at all? Actually, forget that, I've found this on their website

Due to the increasing difficulty in obtaining good doors for the morris we are now developing complete fibreglass 2 door doors. These will be reinforced for saftey.17/7/2009 We have just received the R/H sample door.Looks very good.We are going to test fit over the next couple of weeks and then we should be able to give the go ahead for production early August 2009.Current estimated retail price will be in the region of £125+vat.

Seems good value if they are steel reinforced for safety and additionally around hinges, lock, etc
